Hello and welcome to Custom Pen & Ink Online my name is Scott Downes. I am a sixteen (16) year career fire fighter for the City of Pompano Beach. I have been drawing all of my life, but seven (9) years ago decided to take it a step further and started drawing pen and ink sketches of homes and businesses as the name of my company implies "Custom Pen and Ink". Late in 1992 someone introduced me to a Macintosh computer and life has never been the same. I have attended the Fort Lauderdale Art Institute, and I have been taking classes in graphic design. In 1993 I went into business with the majority of my work/accounts existing in the fire service.

What I do, depending on the artwork to be drawn is to take the original picture and find the particularly detailed areas of the object to be drawn and then with a magnifying glass reproduce them by drawing them in line art.  I then scan these objects into my computer. Detailed work is done both by hand and on the computer for the final product. I do designs and finish products in all kinds of mediums, ie. silk screening, embroidery and conventional printing. I have plenty of City Fire Department and Union Locals that will be happy to give a reference to the quality and timeliness of my work.   This year I have been fortunate enough to be involved with Local 1560, Boca Raton, Florida.
